Ammann Australia Marks Milestone
Ammann Australia (AAU) recently marked its 15th anniversary as its own legal entity, a testament to the company’s commitment to the Oceana market.
“The longevity and growth can be attributed to product quality and an uncompromised commitment to customer service and support,” said Paul Vandersluis, managing director of AAU.
Ammann had a history in Australia prior to the establishment of AAU in January of 2010. Dealer networks began distributing Ammann compaction equipment in the early 1990s.
In 2007 the first Ammann Asphalt plant was installed in Melbourne and the product line gained instant recognition and increased market demand.
“At the time there was a lot of local demand for European plant technologies and energy efficiency,” Vandersluis explained.
On January 14, 2010, Ammann Group established the subsidiary, Ammann Australia, to grow the asphalt- and concrete-mixing plant business and support the existing Dealer networks across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
AAU, with headquarters in Caboolture, Brisbane, started with two staff and has grown to 16. It is primarily dedicated to the distribution, service and maintenance of asphalt and concrete plants, whereas road construction machines are supported via the Dealer network
“We have supplied the region in excess of 42 asphalt plants with capacities from 90 to 320 tonnes per hour in continuous and batch types,” Vandersluis said. “Ammann Australia has also made many successful retrofit projects, like installation of warm mix systems, bitumen tank farms and filter replacements, just to name a few.”
AAU also provides an advanced training facility and courses; a 24-hour hotline for operators; and local technical assistance. Shipping and erection of asphalt and concrete plants is handled through the subsidiary.
“It has been a lot of hard work, but seeing the growth makes all the efforts worthwhile,” said Vandersluis, who was an integral part of the inception and expansion of AAU and the development of the Ammann brand.
“As an OEM subsidiary, Ammann Australia caters to all our customers’ needs,” Vandersluis said. “Be it new plants, spare parts, service, retrofits or training, Ammann Australia is here to stay and deliver on our customer promise of, “Productivity partnership for a lifetime!”
Ammann is a world-leading supplier of mixing plants, machines and services to the construction industry with core expertise in roadbuilding and transportation infrastructure. The family-owned company has enjoyed international success since 1869. Hans-Christian Schneider, Ammann CEO, is the sixth generation to run the business.
