AMMANN EXPANDS ELECTRIC-DRIVE OFFERINGS
The new Ammann eAPH 70/95, the first electric-drive hydrostatic plate offered by the company, brings a host of benefits including zero emissions and dramatically reduced maintenance costs.
The plate is powerful and heavy, with a weight of 750 kg, making it a great fit for soil and earthwork, compaction of paving stones, trench work, road construction, foundation work, civil engineering and landscaping.
As a zero emissions machine, it can work indoors and on the most highly regulated jobsites. It meets all global emissions standards.
Maintenance on the plate is minimal, saving businesses time and money.
The electric drive requires less service than a combustible engine. There are no air filters and a very low volume of fluids. No tools are needed for the daily maintenance that is required.
A fully hydrostatic drive system eliminates the need for a V belt and a centrifugal clutch – and the maintenance that go with them. A hydraulic motor drives the eccentric shafts.
ROBUST BATTERY
Like any electric-drive product, the battery is key to the success of the plate. The eAPH 70/95 is powered by a Li-ion battery, LiFePo4 9.2 kWh. Among its benefits:
A storage capacity of 180 Ah
A life span of up to 3000 charging cycles
A fast battery charging rate that ensures the machine is ready to work the next shift
High output during heavy usage so the plate has the power it needs
An environmentally friendly battery that does not emit harmful gases or chemicals
Built-in features that prevent overcharge, excessive discharge, overheating and short-circuiting
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS
The eAPH 70/95 offers the advantages of an electric drive, as well as the tried-and-true features of Ammann Hydrostatic Vibratory Plates.
Smooth travel. The unique Ammann triple-shaft exciter system keeps plate movement consistent, which enables smooth travel – even through heavy, cohesive soils – and helps effortlessly overcome steep grades. APH machines are impressive climbers and can even do so while backfilling saturated areas – work that can leave competitive products at a standstill.
Easy steering control. Ammann Orbitrol steering controls the adjustment of the centrifugal weights, allowing a smooth and easy change of direction while ensuring great accuracy on the jobsite. Machine speed and direction can be adjusted by a simple turn of the steering control lever. The machine can hover and provide on-the-spot compaction for the more challenging areas. This system helps improve productivity in corners and other tight spots.
Intelligent Compaction. The plates can be equipped with the industry-proven Ammann Compaction Expert (ACE), an optional automated compaction measurement and control system. ACE on vibratory plates utilises the same technology that has been used on Ammann’s heavy compaction machines for years. It provides operators with an accurate indication of soil stiffness and whether desired compaction has been achieved.
Other key features include a protective casing for key components, an e-start button, an emergency stop switch and an hour meter.
GREAT FOR RENTAL
The eAPH 70/95 is an excellent fit for rental houses.
Operators of any size can easily control the machine.
The low maintenance needs are appreciated by rental houses.
The low-vibration handle is appreciated by operators, who are often involved in rental decision-making.
An hour meter tracks usage for billing and enables maintenance planning.
The quiet operation enables work in sound-sensitive areas.
It can be used on jobsites with strict emissions requirements.
The base plate is self-cleaning and wear-resistant.
OPTIONS
Also available are extension plates of 75 mm and 150 mm (3 in and 5.9 in), the ACE system, and a battery charger.
