ARA Show 2025
Ammann’s Unique Advantages Highlighted at ARA Trade Show
LAS VEGAS – Ammann’s hard-hitting, low-maintenance compactors will be featured at the American Rental Association (ARA) Show 2025 to be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Thursday, Jan. 30, to Saturday, Feb. 1.
An array of Ammann machines will be showcased at the event, billed as the world’s largest equipment and rental trade show. Among the Ammann products are the new ARR 1575-2 Trench Roller, the ARX 26.1-2 Light Tandem Vibratory Roller, the ARS 30 Single Drum Roller, and a variety of light equipment with unique advantages – including rammers, plate compactors and a walk-behind roller.
“These products are perfect matches for rental houses,” said Christopher Perkins, President Ammann America. “They are highly productive, reliable, and competitively priced. They also are designed to be easy to operate so new customers who are unfamiliar with a machine can be productive immediately. All these things mean your rental customers are satisfied and keep coming back, which leads to improved ROI for your business.”
The compactors provide value after the sale through Ammann’s ECOdrop initiative, which reconfigured key systems and components to lessen the need for fuel and fluids. A closer look at one specific product, the Ammann ARS 70 Single Drum Roller, highlights the key features and benefits. With ECOdrop, the ARS 70 has seen reductions of:
22% in fuel consumption
26% in the required hydraulic fluid
10% in the needed vibratory system fluid
“Burning less fuel is, of course, important to the end-users who rent the equipment,” Perkins said. “ECOdrop doesn’t just create this value for the rental customers. It also provides value to the rental house by slashing maintenance costs for the acquisition and disposal of fluids.”
All Ammann machines at the show utilize the ECOdrop initiative. Among the compactors highlighted:
A Narrower Trench Roller
The Ammann ARR 1575-2 Trench Roller has a base operating width of 23.6 inches, compared with the previous model’s width of 25.2 inches. The full width remains unchanged with the standard drum extensions still working at 33.5 inches.
“That size reduction makes a big difference,” Perkins said. “It fits in a 24-inch trench now and reduces wear and tear over the lifetime of the machine. The Ammann trench roller of course has articulation, but we also have oscillation which keeps the drums in higher contact ratio with the ground, improves stability, and reduces tip-overs.”
The updated trench roller features direct vibration. It utilizes two eccentric shafts per drum to deliver compaction power from the exciter directly to the materials.
Ammann has developed the safest and most technologically advanced remote control system. It protects the operator, other workers – and the machine itself.
A Tandem Roller That Requires No Engine After-Treatment
The Ammann ARX 26.1-2 Light Tandem Vibratory Roller requires no diesel particulate filter, which eliminates maintenance headaches – and maintenance costs.
The roller, at a width of 47.2 inches, utilizes a maintenance-free articulation joint that enables quick drum adjustment from in-line to off-set configurations, helpful when working close to obstructions. The in-line drum setting is standard for USA customers.
A key feature of the roller is effortless switching between drive modes, which can now be handled by the crew.
Soft drive enables smooth, steady adjustments to directional changes – particularly important when working on asphalt.
Hard drive responds quickly to directional changes.
Panic stop idles the machine if the operator makes very sudden directional changes or significantly adjusts the travel lever position.
The Smallest Ammann Single Drum Roller
The Ammann ARS 30 brings power in a decidedly small package, with a drum width of 47.2 inches and an operating weight of 7,670 pounds.
The compaction power and maneuverability ensure success on varied jobsites. Control and operation are intuitive, which is especially beneficial for less experienced operators and those who provide training to newcomers.
The unique no-rear-axle concept makes the machine more compact, improving visibility and maneuverability. The design also allows the location of the engine to lower the center of gravity, thereby enhancing stability, even when working on slopes.
A fully hydrostatic propulsion system makes traction a key differentiator. The drum and each wheel have their own drive motor and gearbox.
Light Equipment for All Customer Needs
Additional Ammann light compactors will be available for review at the show.
The products feature advanced technology that helps ensure that rental customers find success on the jobsite. Among other advantages, the rammers and plates are also valuable to rental houses because of low acquisition and ownership costs; extended maintenance intervals; compaction output; and intuitive operation.
Each machine in the light compaction lineup brings performance, reliability and low ownership costs – as well as specific advantages to the jobsite. Among the examples:
The Ammann ARW 65-S Walk Behind Roller can weave its way around the jobsite thanks to a 15° steering angle, which allows movement in all directions.
The Ammann ATR 68 P Rammer utilizes an optimized multi-function gas lever that is shaped and positioned for easy reach and operation, an exceptional feature for those who rent.
A variety of other rammers and plates (forward, reverse and hydrostatic) ensures there is a perfect match for every jobsite.
Because they produce no emissions, electric-drive rammers and plates can be used in confined spaces, even indoors, without sacrificing compaction power.
