Ammann Compactors and Asphalt Plants Featured at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023
DAVIE, Florida – Machines with high compaction output – and asphalt plants that produce high-quality mix – will be on display at the Ammann stand at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023.
“We look forward to meeting with customers and, as always, learning more about the challenges they face,” said Hans-Christian Schneider, CEO of Ammann. “At the same time, we have already developed plants and machines that address key needs of our customers. We’re eager to showcase these products.”
Ammann will be at stand S5455 at the construction trade show, which runs from March 14-18 in Las Vegas.
E-Drive machines
The electrically driven eAPF Forward Moving Vibratory Plate Compactor and the eAPR Reversible Vibratory Plate Compactor meet ever-tightening emissions standards – yet provide powerful compaction output, too. Long-lasting, quick-charging batteries help keep the machines running for extended periods. The plates will be displayed at the event but are not yet on the market. They will be released in the near future.
Ammann Rammers
These light compactors feature the best forward movement in the industry, helping contractors in all applications work productively. The rammers are easy to use, so operators of all experience levels are able to perform productively. Operators are more comfortable, too, because of the reduced-vibration handles.
Ammann Vibratory Plate Compactors
The product line includes forward-moving, reversible and hydrostatic plates. Weights range from a light 120 lb (54 kg) to a much heavier 1,819 lb (825 kg) – with many models in between.
All Ammann plates are simple to operate, making them ideal for rental fleets. They are also versatile, with an ability to easily adjust to varied applications. Many are available with diesel or gasoline engines.
When it comes to production, some of these machines move as quickly as soil compactors. They are high-climbers, with various models performing on grades as steep as 30%.
Ammann APF Forward Moving Plates’ technologically advanced exciter system provides significant power to enhance productivity in challenging materials and on steep grades.
The vibration-isolated guide handle reduces operator stress, permitting longer working shifts while minimising the risk of injury. The handle can be folded flush with the machine or even removed, enhancing maneuverability in tight spaces and making transport easy.
The hydrostatic forward and reverse steering of APR Reversible Plates enables quick directional changes and the ability to compact in hard-to-reach spaces. An innovative handle concept lowers the hand-arm vibration (HAV) values to less than 2.5 m/sec². The vibration levels are so low that safety codes in the most highly regulated countries do not require documentation of operator hours.
The patented triple-shaft exciter system, featured on APH Hydrostatic Plates, keeps movement consistent. This enables smooth travel – even through heavy, cohesive soils – and helps effortlessly overcome steep grades. APH machines are impressive climbers and can even do so while backfilling saturated areas.
Ammann Trench Roller
The ARR 1575 is an articulated trench roller that provides perfect ground contact and optimal compaction. The machine and its padfoot drum provide results, even where other compactors have failed. Its ability to work in cohesive soils can prevent the need for soil removal and replacement, providing a significant financial impact.
The roller utilises a new remote control. A combination of infrared and radio control boosts operator comfort and jobsite safety. The remote-control battery can be charged internally or externally.
Ammann Walk-Behind Roller
The show will mark the first North American appearance of a new walk-behind roller, the Ammann ARW 65. The roller combines two applications in a single machine. The operator chooses whether to utilise a high-amplitude setting for work on gravel/soil or a low-amplitude setting for asphalt and bituminous materials.
The new roller features front pivot-steering for increased maneuverability and reduced surface shear forces when working on asphalt.
Ammann Soil Compactors
Ammann offers a deep line of ARS Single Drum Rollers, with weights and sizes to succeed on virtually any jobsite. The rollers utilise advanced technology, innovative engineering and robust engines to deliver high compaction output. The innovative no-rear-axle concept enables a lower engine location that improves the centre of gravity – which enhances stability, even on slopes, and improves traction and climbing ability.
The new Ammann ARS 30 and ARS 50 Soil Compactors, with weights of 3 tonnes and 5 tonnes, deliver high compaction output in small packages.
The machines’ versatility and easy transportability make them ideal for rental houses. The rollers are suitable for compacting a wide range of materials. A shell kit option allows them to be fitted with smooth or padfoot drums.
Rental houses will also appreciate these service benefits:
An easy-to-reach adjustable operator seat optimises comfort, as does the fully vibration-isolated platform. All control switches are accessible and highly visible – essential for quick operator overview. A robust dashboard is highly durable, particularly important in open-platform models. A multi-functional control display is located on the main dashboard, making it easy for operators to monitor.
Customers will appreciate that the drums are designed to be maintenance-free as part of Ammann’s ECOdrop philosophy. This advantage significantly reduces the cost of ownership and makes the machines more environmentally friendly
Ammann Light Tandem Rollers
Ammann’s ARX Series has been enhanced for contractors who rent the rollers – and the rental houses that supply them. The 2.5t machine can utilize a new Kubota D1703-M-DI engine that does not require any Engine After-Treatment Technology (EAT) to meet the latest EU Stage V/U.S. Tier 4f emission standards.
The all new ARX 10.1 StV is an addition to the portfolio, offering an entrance into the line of ride-on light tandem rollers. The easy-to-operate machine utilises a gasoline engine and one-drum vibration for cost-effectiveness on small jobsites.
The machines are also popular because of an articulation joint that enables quick drum adjustment from in-line to off-set configurations and fully electronic drive levers for smooth starts and stops.
Ammann Asphalt-Mixing Plants
Ammann is committed to the U.S. asphalt plant industry, with products being developed and manufactured specifically for the North American market. As part of these efforts, Ammann has created the U.S. Engineering and Technical Center for its plants. The center is transforming input from customers and industry leaders into plant features and processes that best fit the North American market.
A dedicated U.S.-based product support team is also part of the center.
Ammann Mobile Mixing Plant
The ACM 180 Prime Asphalt-Mixing Plant is a highly mobile version of the successful Ammann continuous plants.
The ACM 180 Prime, with output capability of 180 t/h, includes the innovative as1 Control System and tried-and-tested core components. A controllable outlet gate enables the filling height – and therefore the mixing time – to be set depending on recipe and output. The mobile plants are such good mixers that they have excelled on demanding airport runway projects.
Ammann Batch Mixing Plant
Versatility and high quality are among the reasons for the popularity of the Ammann ABA UniBatch Asphalt-Mixing Plant. It is easily customisable, and on-site Ammann engineering ensures its full potential is realised. Its layout is flexible, and the plant is adaptable as a start-up or is easily integrated into existing sites. Forward-thinking engineering ensures easy integration of future options and technologies.
Models of the asphalt plants will be on display for review.
